Review Blazing Saddles Body Wash

Recently, I found myself in the market for a new body wash after running out of my regular brand. Feeling adventurous, I decided to check out a product by Outlaw Soaps called Blazing Saddles.

After using this body wash for a month, I decided it was time to write a review. What follows is my unvarnished experience of this soap with an honest rundown of the pros and cons.

Masculine Scent Needed

One of the reasons I decided to check out this soap was that I wanted something masculine. Don’t get me wrong – I like some of the other body washes I had been using, but many of them had a strong flowery or citrus scent.

Additionally, I was looking for something long-lasting. Because I work out each morning, I must use a product that can keep me fresh smelling the entire day.

That’s why when I heard about Blazing Saddles from a friend, I figured I’d give it a try. That’s when I headed over to Amazon to buy a bottle (see Amazon for pricing).

I’m going to tell you a little secret. Not long ago, I had an embarrassing experience where I found myself in an intimate situation. During a moment of closeness, the person I was with negatively commented on my body odor.

Talk about embarrassing.

I mention this because the soap I had been using contained jasmine and let me tell you – it did not gel well with my body chemistry.

It was then and there that I decided the next wash I used would have something manly in it, like leather or sagebrush.

At any rate, now that you have some background, let’s move on to the review.

Blazing Saddles Body Wash Review

As mentioned previously, I bought this product online via Amazon because I couldn’t find it at my local drugstore or supermarket. While this was somewhat inconvenient, I do have to say it was well worth it.

When the box was delivered to my home, I opened it up and found a brown, 8-ounce bottle inside. The pump was attached, requiring me only to twist it clockwise so that soap was dispensed.

Curious about the scent, I decided to squirt out a tiny amount on my finger. What I found was a really cool combination swirl of smells.

  • Leather
  • Gunpowder
  • Sandalwood
  • Sagebrush

If you have ever been to a campfire, you know the scent it can throw off. Well, that’s what Blazing Saddles smells like. It’s just very manly.

Once I was done sniffing the gel, I turned the pump counterclockwise and placed it into a quart-size baggie that holds my other grooming products. That same baggie then gets put into my gym bag and used right after working out.

And so, the next day, I used the product after a grueling chest and biceps day.

Applying the Body Wash

Once I was in the shower, I pumped out a small amount onto my palm and lathered it up with the other. I quickly found out that a little bit goes a LONG way.

Starting with my face and working my way downwards, I applied the soap everywhere. I was surprised at how silky this product was. Honestly, it felt amazing.

While I can’t be sure, I think I used about four pumps total? And with that little amount, I found the liquid gel transformed into a lathery confection that adequately cleaned my body.

Upon stepping out of the shower and drying myself off, I could immediately feel how soft my skin had become. I’m not sure why this is, but it may have something to do with the manufacturer using only natural ingredients.

This is not to say I didn’t apply a moisturizer. I did. But I will say that my skin didn’t feel harsh or dry after a shower.

After Showering

So, many hours after the shower, I still felt fresh and clean. Additionally, my skin remained soft for the remainder of the day. I think what clinched the deal for me with this body wash were the compliments I received.

A girl at the Starbucks I visit asked me if I was wearing a cologne. When I told her it was a new body wash, she straight-up said it was awesome.

Later, a friend of mine I was playing pool with said I smelled like I had been camping. When I told him about the Blazing Saddles soap, he asked where he could buy it. To me, that’s kind of a compliment, don’t you think?

Is It Worth The Money?

So, is Outlaw’s Blazing Saddles worth the money? Does it make you smell manly? All I can tell you is that since using this product, I’ve been very pleased.

The price point feels comparable to mainstream body washes marketed towards men, but the ingredients feel less commercial and less chemical.

Additionally, I just think there’s something about the soap that works well with my chemistry. I’ve noticed when I put on my favorite cologne, Paco Rabanne, the scents don’t conflict.

So, should you buy this body wash? I’ll leave the decision to you. My experience has been nothing but positive and I plan on purchasing a new bottle when this one is used up.

Do you use a men’s body wash? If so, what do you look for in the product? Any recommendations?
